UK Govt Wants Kids To Head Outdoors
Last month, UK Education Secretary Damian Hinds launched #SummerOutdoors which will suggest free or low-cost options to keep children entertained and spark interest in character-building activities during the summer break. Forest School Methods Have Positive Impacts
New research, published last month in the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) publication, The Geographical Journal, reveals that children enjoy Forest School activities yet some children struggle to frame the skills and knowledge they develop in these more informal settings as educational when compared with traditional learning activities that are associated with the current National Curriculum.
