Organisers of the Motorhome and Caravan Show have announced that the hill-bagging spaniels Max, Paddy and Harry will be making a guest appearance at the show this October. The dog trio became internet and social media stars when Kerry started sharing their adventures.
Max, Paddy, Harry and Kerry will all be appearing at the Freedom To Go live theatre, in Hall 9 on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October, where Kerry will share the story of how he met Max and subsequently the benefits that getting outside has on your mental and physical health. Kerry will also talk about the adventures he and the dogs have had since he bought a campervan and the particular lifestyle that comes with owning a van.
The story begins with an awful car accident that saw owner Kerry Irving, of Keswick, Cumbria, being left with chronic back and neck pain. This resulted in the active outdoor-loving Kerry becoming housebound and taking up to 27 tablets a day which quickly led to deep depression – until he met Max. Kerry started taking Max on regular walks around the Lake District which eventually dramatically improved Kerry’s physical and mental health.
Kerry started sharing his and Max’s adventures on Facebook in 2016 and once puppy Paddy joined the clan their popularity rocketed. Max, Paddy and Harry now have over 116,000 followers between Facebook and Instagram. They now take part in a variety of charity walks and have helped to raise over £120,000 for numerous good causes and do a number of public and television appearances.
Max is also the only therapy dog to be invited to attend the Queen’s garden party where they not only met the Queen but also HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. After meeting them at Buckingham Palace, Prince William and Kate Middleton invited Kerry and his spaniels to attend their recent royal visit to the Lake District.

All of this hard work has not gone unnoticed, the spaniels have received a commendation from the PDSA for providing comfort, support and joy to thousands of people. And previously won The Great Outdoors Magazine’s Personality of the Year – Gold Award for inspiring thousands of outdoor enthusiasts.
The Motorhome and Caravan Show takes place from 15-20 October 2019 and is the UK’s biggest leisure vehicle show– kids of 15 and under go free.
