Osprey Pack’s Kamber 42/Kresta 40 rucksack, designed for backcountry ski/snowboard mountaineering and hut trips, has received a Backpacker magazine Editors’ Choice Gold Award, made for products that have sustained years of best-in-class performance.
In the November/December 2019 issue, Backpacker editors describe Osprey’s Kamber 42/Kresta 40 as ‘the only ski pack we ever want to use’ because it’s ‘proven time and again that its feature set is the most dialed one on the mountain.’
Regarding product assessment for ‘The Best Backpacking and Ski Gear of Winter 2019’, Backpacker noted, ‘In the name of testing, there was no weather too cold, no snow too deep, no location too remote. For one final assessment, we took the standout products to Banff National Park in Alberta, where we found both wicked wind and perfect skiing.’
Rob BonDurant, VP of Product, Design and Marketing at Osprey, said, “As a brand, delivering timeless performance is not just our intention, it’s also our guarantee. We are so honored to receive BACKPACKER Magazine’s Editors’ Choice Gold award. Rather than a celebration of a single product launch or moment in time, the Editors’ Choice Gold Award acknowledges Kamber’s ongoing performance over time.”

Independent since 1974, Osprey products are backed by the brand’s All Mighty Guarantee. Osprey will repair any damage or defect for any reason free of charge – whether it was purchased in 1974 or yesterday. If Osprey is unable to perform a functional repair on a pack, it will ‘happily replace it’.
In addition to Osprey’s Kamber 42/Kresta 40, this year’s Editors’ Choice Gold Award winners included Exped DownMat, DPS Alchemist Wailer 100 RP/ Alchemist Yvette 100 RP and Mountain Hardwear Trango 2.
