Founded in 2007, Keswick Mountain Festival (KMF) is one of the UK’s best-loved outdoor festivals, attracting tens of thousands of visitors every year to the iconic fells and lakes of Cumbria. Following the success of the Hanwag Three Peaks Challenge in previous years, KMF and Hanwag have agreed to increase capacity and run this event on each day of the 2021 festival.
Setting off between 7:30am and 9:00am, participants will be challenged to finish this challenging 18-mile hike which takes in three classic fells (Catbells, Walla Crag and Latrigg) within eight hours. To ensure there is an event to suit all ages and abilities, the Hanwag Hiking Series will also include the Coledale Challenge, which is aimed at more experienced hikers, and the family friendly Hanwag Walla Crag Family Challenge.
Christopher King, Brand Manager for Hanwag UK, said, “We have supported the Keswick Mountain Festival for many years so are delighted to build on previous partnerships by sponsoring this series of fantastic hiking challenges for 2021.
“This year has presented many challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we’ve been pleased to see a growing interest in hiking over the last few months and hope to see this enthusiasm for the outdoors continue into next year and beyond. We look forward to seeing everyone at Keswick Mountain Festival in 2021 and to celebrating 100 years of providing quality footwear that delivers outstanding performance and a personalised fit.”
Keswick Mountain Festival will be held from 21-23rd May 2021 in Crow Park, by Derwent Water. Whether you want to run, hike, ride, swim, tri or just enjoy live music, places on the sporting events and festival tickets can be booked now. Entries made before 31 January take advantage of the 2020 Price Freeze.
