The UK’s oldest and biggest mountain and outdoor event is launching its own streaming channel. Kendal Mountain Festival’s (KMF) new KENDAL MOUNTAIN PLAYER gives adventure enthusiasts year-round access to films, events and specially curated content.
Last year, KMF went fully online, for obvious reasons, and proved to be hugely successful with an impressively increased audience, across 83 countries. Research showed that people were keen to see this digital offering extended with more Kendal-curated content, which led to the Kendal Mountain Player development.
The streaming platform launches with over 100 hours of content including film, events, sessions and interviews – annual subscribers also get access to this year’s digital Festival. In November, Kendal returns as a physical, live event but will also be streaming its events and films online.
As with the main KMF, the Player aims to support filmmakers with a significant proportion of revenue being redirected back through royalties, allowing a greater year-round stream of income into creating original film.
