Montane Marks International Women’s Day With Inspirational Video On Challenges And Opportunities

To mark this year’s International Women’s Day, British outdoor brand MONTANE has launched AN INSPIRING VIDEO starring four pioneering #TeamMontane women with the aim of inspiring the next generation of explorers.

The five-minute film features Katy Parrott, an ultra-runner and adventurer; Jessie Leong, photographer, writer, presenter and filmmaker with a passion for climbing, mountaineering and fellrunning; Kat Roberts, mountain leader and open water swimming coach; and climber and boulderer, Grace Shephard.

Filmed in Snowdonia National Park, the video follows the team on a day out in the hills, where they discussed their journeys in the outdoor industry, the challenges they have faced and the opportunities that await for those who are eager to get outside.

The women from #TeamMontane also talked about how the outdoors empowers them, the barriers they have found and what advice they would give to other women in the outdoors. “Everybody is on their own personal outdoor journey. Just embrace it and do what you want to do, what makes you happy, and what you enjoy,” commented Kat Roberts.

Montane’s Marketing Executive, Athlete and Event Lead, Hannah Foster, said, “International Women’s Day provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate and champion the achievements of women worldwide. At Montane we are proud to have so many inspiring women internally in our HQ helping to shape the direction of Montane moving forwards.

“We also work with a number of inspiring women externally who are regularly taking on epic challenges and events, all of which perfectly captures Montane’s ethos.”

The video was produced by an all-female crew, including the videographer Sam Dugon, as well as two of Montane’s HQ female team members, athlete and event executive, Hannah Goodfellow Foster, and digital marketing manager, Fran Wilson. Topping off this all-female crew was Ellie Green, director and co-owner of Summit Fever Media, the award-winning adventure and documentary film production agency.
